BarrelCam™

It’s been fun adding TM to random things I make up. Like BarrelCam™, it’s where I put my phone in my barrel at work and take the audience for a ride while I work. Honestly if any of my ideas ever made it big, I should get some credit at least for them!!

SammyLand, sadly it’s a real country haha, it used be called EarthLand I guess until they got annoyed by people for some reason and changed it, it literally makes no sense at all. If I could though I’d copyright and Trademark that name and make it into a cool theme park!!

Create something and dream big! Someday you’re silly idea could become reality, even if it’s not you putting it into reality and someone else reaping all the greatness from it! 🙂

Be The Best

Be the best you can be
Don’t forget to smile at me
I’m only a custodian and clean up your mess
But I really must confess

I am more than you think
I don’t always mind the stink
As long as it helps someone out
You’ll find out what I”m all about

God has been good to me
Giving me a job where I can help others
Doing a job of a servant
I hope you’ll be observant

The next time you’re in school or at a store
Take a look at the one wiping up the floor
They are servants to help the world shine
I know that’s what’s always on my mind

God bless and give a high five to a custodian sometime!

LATEST NEWS

So, last August I got a full time job finally in the School District I’ve been working at.  This meant that I had to give up a few things, one of the biggest was to have to back out of being a cross country assistant coach, which was my dream from the very beginning.  Some smaller things was moving to a different school, not getting cans, scrap metal, spare change, and ruling the roost like I was used to at my previous school. Because of this change though I get to work less at Steinhafels and therefore open up more free time for myself which I’m not used to having.  I also got an apartment now and have been moving into that and finding joy in having a place like an apartment, which is very hard since I used to live in a condo.  This year I am hoping to learn how to cook a little and maybe find that special girl!! 🙂 haha a boy can dream right?!

Anyways, you haven’t heard from my friend Steph Mox lately, but she’s having another kid and moving to another state, which is hard to take sometimes because it’s been such a joy getting to visit them! If she had the time to write on her blog I guarantee it would be something of legend with the amazing things that God is doing in her and her husbands lives.  There’s certain people that when you see them, you realize there’s something different about them. They have a sort of glow around them, and that is the Mox’s.  I’ve never seen two people more in love with God than those two are and they are a shining beacon for the world to see.  I hope one day to reignite my passion for God and shine as bright as they do for his glory.

With the new year, I did purchase the bible on audiobook and have been listening to it in the car, I realize I have been fading as a Christian and want that light to burn bright within me so that everyone knows that God is alive and on the move.  So, I have been doing what I can do get back into the word and grow in my faith once again.

What’s something you’re doing this new year to get back into the swing of things? Is there anything or are you doing everything you want to be doing? How are you shining in the darkness?

2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV | Church Hoppers?

3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV)

I was reading the scripture about all scripture being breathed out by God, 2 Tim 3:16-17, and then decided just to keep reading for the sake of reading and read the above. The first thing that came to my mind were those who church hop because they don’t like the way certain pastors/priests make them feel or the message they spread and so they just go to someone who is nicer or says the candy coated things that makes us feel warm inside.  (If the pastor is literally saying things that aren’t in scripture, then I’d say go for the hopping, because you don’t want to be fed lies either)  But I hope you know what I’m talking about.   If you don’t, I’m sorry.

Along with the church hoppers, this could mean the unchurched as well who think the bible is filled with fairy tales and what not.  I don’t know. But what are your thoughts on the verse?

Matthew 7:3-5 | Speck vs. Log

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. (NIV)

If everyone who reads this verse has a log in their eyes, every brother (or sister I think it’s safe to add) wouldn’t that mean there were no real specks in eyes at all but just logs.  I wonder how many meanings we can come up with for this verse, but if I’m correct it is talking about the problems in our lives.  Don’t go out and judge someone for spending money unwisely if you spend unwisely, don’t tell your brother that they are saying stupid things when you know you yourself say stupid things, etc. First take care of your problems, or “clean your side of the street” first and than go and help your brother/sister clean their side of the street in a way that doesn’t belittle them but lifts them up.  I struggle with this every single day with a guy at work, he just does some things that I see as stupid and I constantly get on him about it, and I know I’m the same exact way and make the same exact mistakes, if not now I have in the past and so part of me whispers in my ear, “you’re just trying to help him not make the same mistake you made” but he’s human…..he’s going to make the same mistakes I make and that’s part of growing.  If you baby a person too much, they are never going to grow and learn how to live for themselves.  Parents do this kind of thing all the time, but a child will only learn if he is left to make mistakes himself and hopefully learn from them. Sometimes it’s a gamble because the kid will never learn and continue to mess up time and time again, but sometimes he does learn and he becomes all the stronger because of it.
